Vietnam Independent Directors Association Joins International Corporate Governance Network
Vietnam Independent Directors Association (VNIDA) is proud to announce its membership in the International Corporate Governance Network (ICGN), a non-profit organization established in 1995 with the goal of promoting international standards in corporate governance and investor stewardship. This move reflects VNIDA’s commitment to fulfilling its mission of promoting the best practices in corporate governance for domestic enterprises, enhancing the role of independent directors and the board of directors as a whole.
“VNIDA’s membership in ICGN will further enhance the professional quality of our organization and provide a better platform to support our members,” said Mr. Dang The Duc, Secretary General and Vice President of VNIDA. “The valuable resources and expertise of ICGN will support us in elevating the management capabilities of our professional members, enhancing the role of independent directors and aiming to elevate the quality of corporate governance in the market.”
As a member of ICGN, VNIDA will have the opportunity to connect and exchange experiences with nearly 300 diverse members from 39 countries in this organization, including companies, investors, asset managers, and other entities dedicated to enforcing good corporate governance. Additionally, VNIDA will gain access to training programs and valuable information related to enhancing professionalism in corporate governance practices.
VNIDA’s admission into the ICGN represents a pivotal milestone. It underscores VNIDA’s dedication to advancing corporate governance standards and its ongoing endeavors to propagate these standards in the Vietnamese market, while providing vital support to independent directors in fulfilling their roles.
